Saturday 14th December
9am – 5pm
Ace Cafe London hosts the annual “RM (Routemaster) Bus Day” from 11am on Saturday 14th December.
The day, which commemorates the end of RMs in normal public service on Friday 9th December 2005 with TfL, includes an optional road run over route 159 from the Ace Cafe to Thornton Heath and an optional evening Christmas Lights tour around London. Whilst no booking is necessary, and noting that all is run by the goodwill of TfL and the public, if attending with a bus, and to assist planning, please let the Events Officer at Routemaster Association know via email: events@routemaster.org.uk
NB: Drivers/owners -RM’s may use bus lanes unless they’re marked “Local Buses”, but please don’t use bus stops which are marked TfL only, and show “Private” or “Not in Service” while running.
This is not a public running day so it’s your choice whether you carry uninvited guests.
As the run is on public roads, you can go as far as you wish, then disperse or return to the Ace.
NB: Public –Though not guaranteed, if asked some bus owners may be willing to carry one or two guests!
