Cars: Accelerating the Modern World

Ace Cafe London teams up with “Cars: Accelerating The Modern World”, the  new exhibition at London’s famous V & A museum!

Showcasing classic cars, modified machines, and future concept cars ( including cars that have never been on display before) this incredible exhibition explores all things automotive.

Discover over 250 objects including an autonomous flying car, a Grand Prix winning Delahaye Type 145, a converted low-rider, a powerful Ford Mustang muscle car, a jet-powered General Motors Firebird 1 and many more.

From manufacturing and automotive design to evolving cities and sub-cultures, examine how the car has transformed technology and speed, the way we travel and has altered our landscape in its short 130-year history.

Racing lovers, collectors, engineers, drivers and designers alike can discover the driving force that accelerated the 20th century and impacted the world.

Up for grabs as prizes at the Ace, as well as four pairs of tickets to attend this very special showcase exhibition (that ends on 19.4.20), are four copies of the  book “Cars: Accelerating the Modern World”, by Brendan Cormier and Elizabeth Bisley, that presents the car as a driving force that increased the pace of the twentieth century. From the legacy of mass production on the first moving assembly line at the Ford Motor Company and the introduction of the annual model by General Motors in the 1920s, to the renewed interest in electric cars after the energy crises of the 1970s and the more recent move towards autonomous vehicles, this is an in-depth look at the history of the automobile and its impact on the designed world.
