Ace Cafe London’s annual “End of Summer Scooter & Mod Special”, at the cafe 9am to 5pm Sunday 1st October, looks forward to hosting the Nomads SC 9th anniversary of the Tony Class memorial ride . Come along and celebrate not only the two-wheeled blue smoke of Lambrettas and Vespas, but also the 55th anniversary of the 1968 founding in London NW10 of Trojan Records.
The rapid growth of Trojan Records during its first year was due in no small part to the development of a working class youth movement that embraced, this then new to Britain, Jamaican reggae music as part and parcel of its culture. The purchasing power of this fast developing young demographic resulted in an explosion in Trojan record sales in the summer of 1969.
Prizes up for grabs for Best Classic and Best Modern scooters at the Ace on afternoon of the “End of Summer Scooter n’ Mod Special”, include a pair of go anywhere outdoor wireless speakers plus, teaming up with Mortons, a subscription to https://www.scootering.com/ along with 3 x tickets to attend Kempton Autojumble on 28.10.23.
