Join Ace & 59 Club live at the world’s biggest classic motor racing festival

Silverstone Classic 2019.

Come and join us in a packed weekend programme at the annual Silverstone Classic 26th to 28th July. This year includes celebrating the 60th anniversary of the famous 59 Club, originally founded as a youth club in 1959 by Father John Oates at The Eton Mission, St. Mary of Eton Church, Hackney, London. It was following visits by his colleague the late Father Bill Shergold, on his motorcycle, to the then notorious Ace Cafe, and meeting with the “Ton Up Kids”, that in 1962 a service and blessing of the bikes was held at the church. This set the 59 Club, a registered church charity, on the road to becoming a legend.

Seemingly overnight, from the moment of this church service, thousands of young motorcyclists joined the 59 Club and, to the sound of rock n’ roll, it became a motorcycle club which from 1964 was to be ever identified and associated with the Rockers!

Today sixty years on, the 59 Club is led by motorcycling Father Sergiy Diduk, vicar of All Saints Church, Hanworth, a church established and consecrated by the late Father Bill Shergold, its first vicar, who subsequently moved to The Eton Mission, St. Mary of Eton Church, Hackney and the 59 Club!

Featuring  a special World GP Bike Legends showcase of iconic 2-stroke 500cc machines and special GP guest riders, spectacular historic motor and bike racing on the world-famous circuit, free access to the paddocks and grandstands, displays from over 120 clubs, streetcar shootouts, manufacturers, and live music  – come and see us in MotoWorld.

To celebrate the 59 Clubs 60th anniversary at Silverstone, and with Father Sergiy and members planning to attend on behalf of the Club, a cafe racer and ‘mods and rockers’ bike and scooter display is a must! If you have a classic motorcycle or scooter and would like to join us, there is a unique opportunity for a limited number of machines to be displayed at our stand and in the heart of the Silverstone action!  To include free entry and vehicle pass, access to exhibitor discounts including camping and food concessions throughout the event weekend, just email us at events@ace-cafe-london.com including with details and an image of your motorcycle, for a chance to join us!

If you don’t have a classic, we’d still love to see you at the event! Standard general admission tickets are also available here and there’s free parking in the public car parks. Join us and be part of this great weekend  as we celebrate Ace Cafe London and the 59 Club’s 60th anniversary!
