“Spirit of ‘69” Trojan Scootering Specials with The Ace

Teaming up with Trojan Records and the UK’s two leading Scootering magazines, Ace Cafe London this year celebrates the 50th “Golden” anniversary of a moment known and recognised since by the term “Spirit of ‘69”!
1968 saw the founding in London NW10 of Trojan Records, and its rapid growth during its first year was due in no small part to the development of a working class youth movement that embraced, this then new to Britain, Jamaican reggae music as part and parcel of its culture. The purchasing power of this fast developing young demographic resulted in an explosion in Trojan record sales in the summer of 1969.
Come along to a free Thursday night at the Ace from 6pm to 11pm on Thursday 5th September, for a magnificent Double-Barrel evening of the “Most turnin’ stormin’ sound o’soul”, skanking n’ stompin’ with the five-piece band The Reggulaters.
