Sunday 3rd November

9am – 5pm

The link was established in the 1950’s between a jukebox playing rock n’ roll and personal transport. For young Brit kids this was a motorbike, and the Ace Cafe was home to these new machines and their soundtracks – the cafe racer had arrived!

Come along and Celebrate  the 60th anniversary this year of the 59 Club, at the  cafe’s annual Ton Up Day on Sunday 3rd November.  YOUTH CLUB, Museum of Youth Culture, a Heritage Funded non-profit organisation working to preserve, share and celebrate youth and subculture history, from the Teds, Ton Ups and Rockers of the 1950’s and ‘60’s to the present day will be with us , and they need your photos and stories!

Whether you have one photograph or a whole archive, bring them along to the Ace on Ton Up Day and YOUTH CLUB will scan your photographs while you wait, and you will walk away with a high-res digital copy and become a historic part of the Museum of Youth Culture.

Prizes up for grabs at the Ace on the day include 2 pairs of tickets to attend the cafe’s annual Elvis Jailhouse Rock Night with Paul Ansell & No 9 the band on Saturday 4th January, a pair of tickets for the Classic Motor Show & the Classic Motorbike Show, held at NEC Birmingham 8th to 10th November, copies of the book by Mauro Carraro ‘Kempton Park Autojumbles – Motorcycles and Stuff – Celebrating 30 years’, copies of both Cafe Racer and Vintage Rock magazines and, courtesy the publisher Morton’s, a subscription to Classic Bike Guide magazine!

Spend £5 or more over the counter at the cafe on Sunday 3rd November from 10am and receive a raffle ticket.

Draw to be held at 3pm.

Listen, revel and be immersed in a mix of the best rock and roll and rockabilly, blended with the London sub-culture sounds, broadcasting 24/7 at Ace Cafe Radio.
